To create different "looks" I sometimes get hold of wigs to mix things up when working with one model. These are from a series I shot documenting a private collection of vintage clothing back in my student days. My two years of photography studies in Hobart coincided with my nieces last two years of highschool, so when I was in need of a model for a project, good old Gracie would find time in her ridiculously busy schedule to come and play dressups with me in the fantastic studio at the Tasmanian Polytechnic. Hours of fun! So many laughs were had during the making of these photographs. Oh and Grace, I still have the out takes in the archives . . . Pity I missed dragging them out for your 21st, oh well, it will give you something to look forward to at your 50th! Check out this little video slideshow of just some of the highlights - while sadly I couldn't get around to view the whole programme, I gave it a jolly good try. Eurobodalla has a wealth of talented artists and I had the pleasure of documenting some of the fabulous art on exhibition plus the artists behind the work during the recent ten day River of Art Festival. Crank up the volume and hold on to your hats! Helen ![]() I'm so pleased to have met so many very talented designers/creators over the years and I love having the opportunity to shoot their work. Mothers Day was spent with two mums and daughters working on documenting just some of the many fabulous wearable art creations by members of the Eurobodalla Fibre Textiles Artists Group for this years Fashion Show. If you have tickets already for OUTRAGEOUS, then you are in for a treat . . . if you don't have tickets yet, bookings are essential and selling fast so be in! If you are interested but not able to come to the show, watch this space . . . I will be posting some more photographs from yesterday fantastic fashion shoot later this month. This years theme is OUTRAGEOUS - so anything goes! Included are outfits entitled "Fireworks" "Gilded Bird" and "Bra-ssy" to name just a few. Put together using mediums of wool, wire, feathers, films, upcycled "treasure" etc etc - the creativity of EFTAG knows no boundaries! Many thanks to the designers who provided their garments yesterday, to Sue Barford for the use of her studio also to Monika for her fabulous contribution in the hair and make up department. Young Molly and Alice were truly great to work with and they amazed me with their change in character with each change of outfit - a great team effort all round! Thanks everyone, Helen. Such a fun night of fabulousness! Flappers, feathers, fancy footwork galore. Congratulations to all
involved in putting together such an entertaining evening - so great to see everyone go all out dressing for the occasion and then hitting the dance floor with great gusto - BRAVO! ![]() Taranaki was treated to a great show by the dynamic 10-piece group . . . Batucada Sound Machine at the stunning setting of Pukekura Park's annual Festival of Lights. I was fortunate to be present to see and hear the show - Brazilian, funk, hip-hop, reggae and Pacific soul influenced musical performance, with vocals in Portuguese, Spanish and English!
